A magnificent military parade at the historic Ba Dinh Square on National Day

The military parade, held at the historic Ba Dinh Square on the morning of September 2nd, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, evoked profound emotions in the hearts of every Vietnamese citizen.

The parade included military and police contingents moving in unison across the historic square, along with a large-scale display of weapons, equipment, aircraft, and naval vessels at sea, all set to stirring military marching music under a vibrant autumn sky adorned with red flags and yellow stars.

The parade contingents included: the Honor Guard; 22 military contingents; 3 militia and self-defense force contingents; 17 police contingents; 4 foreign military units (China, Russia, Laos, Cambodia); 14 military and artillery vehicle contingents; 9 special police vehicle contingents; a red flag contingent; and 13 contingents of mass organizations. Together, they recreate and affirm the great stature and immense value of the August Revolution and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam - the first people's democratic state in Southeast Asia, which shattered the yoke of colonialism and fascism, abolished the feudal regime, and marked a historical turning point: transforming Vietnam from a colony into an independent and sovereign nation; elevating the Vietnamese people from a state of slavery to masters of their own country; and ushering in a new era - the era of national independence and socialism.
